Tua Rita Giusto di Notri Toscana IGT 2019
The wine shows a shining ruby-violet hue.
The expressive aroma of the wine is filled with tones of prunes, blackberries, coffee, salted caramel, wild myrtle, juniper berries, and black pepper. The bouquet is energized by notes of licorice and gentian in the background.
The wine has a full, velvety, deep, very complex, structured, and rich taste of incredible elegance. In the flavor chord, notes of blackberry and black plum give way to shades of spices, tar, and campfire ash. Smooth tannins permeate the long aftertaste, adorned with nuances of dried chili and walnut.
The wine pairs well with barbecue ribs, steaks, grilled meats, and medium-aged cheeses.

Interesting facts
"Giusto di Notri" is the flagship wine of the Tua Rita producer, which the renowned wine authority Robert Parker called "The Superstar of Bolgheri". The first bottle of this magnificent wine was created in 1992. The wine blend consists of a "Bordeaux blend" of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. The organic vineyards are located in the village of Notri Suvereto at an altitude of about 100 meters above sea level. The soils of this region are rich in trace elements such as iron and zinc, which impart mineral notes to the wine. The harvest is carried out manually during the second and third weeks of September. After fermentation, which lasts 10 days in oak vats, malolactic fermentation is conducted for 25-30 days. The wine is aged for 18-20 months in one- and two-year-old French oak barrels of 225 liters, and then rests for another 6 months in bottles in the winery's cellars. The aging potential of the wine exceeds 20 years. The 2019 vintage in Tuscany can be considered successful and fruitful. The spring was rainy and had lower than usual temperatures. Flowering began slightly late in June, with the arrival of heat. The summer was characterized by normal temperatures, with a good difference between night and day temperatures. The wines of 2019 are very interesting and of high quality. When tasted, they demonstrate a rich color, excellent aromas, concentration, and exquisite texture.
About the Manufacturer
In 1984, Rita Tua and Virgilio Bisti purchased the estate located in the town of Notri. The ancient town with picturesque surroundings is situated at an altitude of 100 meters above sea level. The surrounding vineyards predominantly grow on chalky and clay soils rich in zinc and iron, which is why the wines from this region have a well-expressed minerality. The new owners decided to plant Cabernet and Merlot varieties in their vineyards, from which the first wine — Giusto di Notri — was produced in 1992, immediately receiving high praise from experts for its special "Tuscan" character and depth of flavor. Two years later, Tua Rita offered the consumer the wine "Redigaffi", made from Merlot grapes. Its success was overwhelming. The 2000 vintage was particularly successful, when the Italian wine received a maximum score of 100 points from wine critic Robert Parker, and the prestigious magazine "Revue du Vin de France" included it among the top hundred wines in the world. Thanks to this recognition, the owners of the family business were able to modernize production and expand the vineyard area to 50 hectares. Rita and Virgilio believe that the quality of wine depends on the condition of the grapevine, and therefore the main, most responsible types of work in the vineyards are carried out manually and with great respect for the land and plants. Currently, Tua Rita, with the help of highly professional enologist Stefano Chioccioli, produces 5 types of red and 2 types of white wine with a total volume of about 110,000 bottles per year. Most of the produced products are sold outside Italy.
