About the Manufacturer
Kongsgaard is a cult producer of California wines, widely known for creating textured and elegant wines that rank among the best in California. John Kongsgaard is one of the most celebrated winemakers in the USA, producing wines in Napa for over 25 years, and launched his own label in 1996. The Kongsgaard winery, located in an underground cave, is the perfect place for creativity and winemaking. The cave is filled with the sounds of classical music, merging science, art, and winemaking. From the numerous CDs of John Kongsgaard in the wine cave, it is evident that his work here rarely takes place in silence. Music and mountain vineyards are two passions of the winemaker. Currently, two types of Chardonnay are produced here, including a bottling from Napa Valley and one from their vineyard "Judge". Additionally, blended wines from Viognier and Roussanne, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon are created. Production is limited to what John and his son Alex can do by hand, currently amounting to about 3000 cases of wine per year.
