About the Manufacturer
Pommery is a champagne house founded in 1836. In 1857, Madame Louise, the widow of Mr. Pommery, took over the house. She immediately captivated the world with her business acumen, foresight, and significant contribution to the development of French champagne. In 1874, the first "Brut" champagne in history was released. The magnificent Pommery estate is located on a hill in the center of Reims. Beneath it lies a system of mines that served as a quarry during Gallo-Roman times. By connecting them with tunnels, the company created cellars spanning 18 km with ideal conditions for storing and aging champagne. In 2002, the Pommery house was acquired by Vranken Monopole, becoming the second largest champagne producer in France. Today, the company's products are known in over 100 countries worldwide. Many prestigious European competitions and events rely on collaboration with Vranken-Pommery Monopole. The love for art and impeccable style of Madame Pommery has been inherited by today's owners — the company was the first to start producing champagne in elegant bags from Christian Dior and Givenchy. The estate hosts social receptions and festivals, while the cellars feature contemporary art exhibitions.
