The first grapevines at Domaine Maxime Blin were planted in 1947 by Juliette and Robert Blin, driven by a desire to create. Then came Gilles, who joined forces with his wife Madeleine. Together they did much for the winery: built a press and vat room, and engaged in marketing. Finally, in 2005, Maxim Blin took the helm of the family business. "I arrived after studying and various internships I had the chance to go through, with many ideas. I needed an environment. To change our cultural habits. Commitments. Micro-vinification. To process our grape varieties in a new way. To export our wines, to make them known elsewhere and in other ways. I realized I was lucky to inherit a magnificent working tool and playground. I wanted to explore it!" Maxim shares. He was joined by his beloved Claire, with whom Maxim's passion for winemaking and agriculture brought them together. They both grew up in families involved in winemaking. Initially, Claire did not take an active part in the affairs of the Domaine, but she was already involved in her own family structure, where she initiated the installation of winemaking equipment and the creation of a line of wines consisting of unique vintages. The collaboration between Claire and Maxim was very productive, with an exchange of experiences and ideas, gradually forming common ambitions and a vision for the development of Champagne Maxime Blin. The year 2012 was a significant moment in their lives: the long-awaited and desired twin daughters Clémence and Olivia were born, inspiring the parents to create the wine "Clé d’Eole". As time went on, Claire and Maxim worked together, with new harvests and varieties emerging, fueled by innovative changes in agricultural methods. The vineyards transitioned to organic farming, which was confirmed by official certification in 2021. Supporting each other, Claire and Maxim already have new desires and ideas that will surely unfold in the coming years!
