Interesting facts
"Marchese Antinori" Chianti Classico Riserva is a historic wine from Antinori, produced only in the best harvest years and represents a complete expression of quality and elegance of Sangiovese from the Chianti Classico area. Since 2011, the wine has been made exclusively from selected grapes from the Tenuta Tignanello estate, located in the heart of the Chianti Classico region. The Tignanello vineyards are situated on gentle hills surrounded by the valleys of Greve and Pesa, covering 130 hectares. The 2020 harvest began around September 20 with Sangiovese and ended on October 9 with Cabernet Sauvignon. Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes are separated from the stems and gently pressed. The must is placed in stainless steel tanks, where fermentation and maceration occur for a week with very delicate pumping to ensure intense extraction of color and aroma while preserving the elegance and sweetness of the tannins. After spontaneous malolactic fermentation, which concludes by the end of the year, the final blend is created, which is aged in French and Hungarian oak barrels for a year, bottled, and matures for another 12 months. The 2020 vintage will be well preserved for at least until 2031.
