Interesting facts
The ambitious wine Moulin des Costes Cuvee Charriage, demonstrating good concentration and maturity, is produced from grapes from plots with ancient vines in Moulin de Cost. The grapes are completely destemmed. The harvest from each plot is vinified separately. After maceration with daily punching down, fermentation takes place over 31 days. The blending occurs at the end of December. The wine is then partially aged in oak barrels and bottled in March. The wine has a storage potential of 8-12 years.
About the Manufacturer
In the 19th century, the ancestors of the Bunan family moved to Algeria, where they lived for over a hundred years and engaged in winemaking. It was only in the 1960s that the Bunans moved back to France. Wanting to continue the family business, they sought out territories interesting for winemaking in their new location. Their attention was drawn to Bandol — remarkable ancient terroirs between the mountains and the sea, where they could continue their beloved work. Brothers Paul and Pierre Bunan decided to fully dedicate themselves to winemaking. Thus, one of the largest wine houses in Provence was born — Domaine Bunan, located on the best lands of Bandol and consisting of separate estates: Moulin des Costes, Mas de la Rouviere, Chateau La Rouviere. Today, Paul Bunan's son, Laurent, oversees the main issues of viticulture and winemaking at the estate. He is one of those young winemakers who helped elevate several semi-forgotten appellations and estates in the region to a global level.
