Interesting facts
"Is Solinas" is a dry red wine made from the classic Sardinian grape variety Carignano and a small proportion of Bovale Sardo. The grapes are grown on sandy soil with inclusions of limestone and clay, in a Mediterranean climate characterized by mild winters and very hot, windy summers. The harvest is hand-picked in late September-early October. During winemaking, fermentation and maceration are carried out in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for 10-12 days. Malolactic fermentation takes place in cement tanks. The wine is then transferred to oak barriques, where it matures for 12 months. After bottling, "Is Solinas" is aged for several more months in bottles. The varietal characteristics, terroir, and long aging give the wine an excellent structure and rich fruitiness.
