Decordi Cortesole Lugana DОС

Decordi winery has its history dating back to 1921 when the family owned a small café serving traditional Italian dishes and wines of their own production. In those years, Decordi produced large volumes of red wines based on Lambrusco, Fortana, and Ancellotta grapes. The wines became so popular among visitors that it was decided at a family council to take winemaking seriously. Thus, in 1925, the foundation of the future winery was laid, which has existed for 80 years. It was in the 1920s that vineyard cultivation began, and the first wine blends were created, sold both in bulk and in bottles. The Decordi winery was officially registered in 1937, and by 1950, the construction of the plant was completed with an annual production capacity of 3 million liters. At that time, most of the products were sold in large format bottles and demijohns. By 1964, production volume increased even further, and the winery's market expanded to neighboring provinces — Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna. In the 1970s, Decordi introduced a new line of wines specifically for the country's restaurant industry. High consumer demand enabled technical upgrades and modernization of equipment, helping the company reach a new level — in the 1980s, the estate began exporting its wines to Europe and America, and in the 1990s — to Japan. Since 2005, Vinicola Decordi has been headed by the fourth-generation family representative — Alessandro Decordi, whose efforts are directed towards both production development and further conquest of the global market.
