About the Manufacturer
The history of the Mottura company spans over a century. Throughout this time, the main tenets of the producer have been love for vineyards, care for the environment, and preservation of Apulian winemaking traditions. The headquarters of Mottura is located in Turi, a small town in southern Salento. This estate, designed in the Baroque style, was built in the late 19th century. It was founded by Pasquale Mottura in 1927: he decided that the vineyards should bear fruit and make his company's name famous. By the 1940s, Mottura achieved success: the wine was highly appreciated in Milan, Rome, and Naples. The company focused on developing local varieties – Primitivo and Negroamaro, considering their brightness and expressiveness while preserving ancient and traditional processes. At the same time, respect for traditions goes hand in hand with technological innovations. Today, Mottura is a leading Italian enterprise in the world of quality wine production.
