Interesting facts
Released in 2015, The Dublin Liberties, Oak Devil is made from a blend of Irish malt and grain whiskey, aged in bourbon barrels and bottled without cold filtration. The name is inspired by the Liberties area in Dublin, a center of whiskey production in the 18th century. This whiskey won a gold medal at the "The Spirit Business" competition in 2018, scoring 92 out of 100 in the Blended Premium category. This devilish blend, made from malted grain and cereals, has a liquid golden color. The blend of Irish whiskey is full of aromas of baked apples, fresh hay, and warm brown sugar, leading to flavors of caramelized apple toffee, cider, and caramel. The finish reveals gentle notes of nutmeg, cinnamon spice, and a lingering sweetness imparted by American oak after years of aging.
About the Manufacturer
The Dublin Liberties distillery building was constructed in the 1700s and is a testament to the industry of this area: it was originally a mill and for many years a tannery specializing in rabbit skins. It tells a centuries-old story that today, as Liberties takes another step, closely resembles the heyday of Dublin whiskey craftsmanship, which is becoming renowned worldwide again. The Distillery is a modern Irish whiskey production facility. Using well water from the distillery, they produce 100% malted barley for their award-winning whiskey brands Dubliner and Dublin Liberties.
