Tullamore Dew is one of the most popular Irish whiskeys in the world. The history of this legendary drink dates back to 1829 when the Tullamore distillery was built in the town of Tullamore. The distillery is located in the richest agricultural region of County Offaly, where excellent barley was grown, and there were sources of spring water. Thus, the producer had all the ingredients to create a top-quality whiskey. Tullamore Dew got its name from the initials of one of its creators - Daniel E. Williams: DEW. In July 2010, the "Tullamore Dew" brand joined the Scottish family company William Grant & Sons, which also owns the Glenfiddich and Balvenie distilleries. The company was founded by William Grant in 1886. Today, its traditions are continued by the fifth generation of the family. Whiskeys from this producer are known worldwide, sold in more than 180 countries. In 2007, William Grant & Sons was awarded the title of "Best Distillery" at the international "IWSC Worldwide" competition.
