Interesting facts
Caillou Blanc from Chateau Talbot pays tribute to Georges Cordier, who in the late 1930s had the idea of replanting white grape varieties in Médoc. The producer invites you to discover a wine made in the Bordeaux white wine appellation, endowed with a very fresh aroma and excellent liveliness of taste. Hand-harvested grapes are sorted in the vineyard and then vinified in barrels, 30% of which are new. Aging continues for 8 months on the lees with regular stirring.
About the Manufacturer
Chateau Talbot has a rich history. Its name comes from the Constable Talbot, a famous English commander, governor of the city of Guyenne, who became famous in the battle of Castillon in 1453. In 1855, during the classification ordered by Emperor Napoleon III, Chateau Talbot was ranked fourth in Saint-Julien. For several decades, it belonged to the Marquis Aux. In 1917, Chateau was acquired by Désiré Cordier. Under the guidance of the Cordier family, Chateau Talbot became one of the most renowned in the Bordeaux region. Today, Chateau, whose vineyards cover more than one hundred hectares, is led by Lotharingia Cordier and Nancy Bignon-Cordier, who maintain the traditions and innovations of previous generations. The estate has two cellars: the first was renovated in 1989 and filled with wooden barrels characteristic of past times, while the second is equipped with computers controlling the temperature regime and stainless steel barrels.
