Interesting facts
The inspiration for the name "Le Dragon de Quintus" comes from the privileged location of the vineyard on a cape at the edge of the Saint-Emilion plateau, as well as the history of a watchtower built to protect the village. In Western mythology, the dragon is depicted as a highly intelligent being, a guardian of invaluable treasure, benefiting from exceptional vision. This symbol of the guardian and protector of the magical terroir, overseeing the limitless panorama from the plateau, embodies the second wine of Chateau Quintus — "Le Dragon de Quintus". The blend of the 2018 vintage consists predominantly of Merlot with 24.8% Cabernet Franc. Oak barrels (about 30% new) were used for fermentation and aging. The peak maturity of the 2019 vintage is expected between 2023 and 2036.
