About the Manufacturer
Chateau Berliquet is one of the oldest vineyards in Saint-Emilion, appearing on Belleyme's maps as early as 1768, and in 1829 its wine was included among the five great wines of the appellation. The vineyard spans 10 hectares, overlooking the western slope of Saint-Emilion and gently sloping towards the Dordogne. Here, the structural imprint of the limestone plateau is evident, showcasing its ability to produce simultaneously spicy, tense, and elegant wines. The estate borders the Chateau Canon vineyard and has been owned by the same owner, Chanel, since 2017, which has been managing the Chateau Canon vineyards for over twenty years, as well as Chateau Rauzan-Ségla in Margaux. With the change of ownership, a new chapter in the history of Chateau Berliquet began, along with a new adventure involving the Chateau Canon team, which now oversees the Berliquet vineyard. However, the goal of the estate remains unchanged — to produce only wines that reflect the terroir and challenge the years.
