The taste is rich and textured, with pronounced mineral nuances that give the palate exceptional length. Block L5 is located in an open area right on the coastline of the Siviou vineyard. Given its proximity to the ocean and coastal breezes, the vines are carefully monitored for nutrition to avoid excessive stress. About the Manufacturer
Peter Yealands, the founder and owner of Yealands winery, lives by the motto: "Think big, move fast. And never say it can't be done." Guided by this maxim, Peter developed seven of his own vineyards in Marlborough and several leased plots that are co-owned under contract. However, Yealands' entrepreneurial spirit found successful expression not only in winemaking. Before venturing into viticulture and winemaking, Peter recognized the commercial potential of mussel farming in aquaculture and in 1971 obtained New Zealand's first "marine" farming license. Thanks to his efforts in developing innovative technologies and strengthening the position of aquaculture in the region, "marine" farming brings more than $160 million in export revenue to New Zealand's budget annually. Peter's marine farm, covering 2000 hectares, is located in the Caluma Bay on the sands of the Marlborough Valley. In 2003, the farm won first place in the rural environment achievement competition. Today, Peter, his wife Wai, and son Aaron have focused their energy on elevating their beloved child - Yealands Estate - to a global level.
