Interesting facts
The red wine "Villa Antinori" was first produced in 1928 by Niccolò Antinori, the father of Piero Antinori. Over time, the wine has improved, becoming more mature. In 2001, Piero Antinori opened a new era for "Villa Antinori", starting to produce wines only from the best, carefully selected grapes grown exclusively on the estate in Tuscany. The label design has remained unchanged since 1928. The grapes for making "Villa Antinori" Rosso were harvested by hand. The berries were separated from the stems and underwent gentle pressing. Fermentation in steel tanks began the day after crushing and lasted 5-7 days, with maceration on the skins lasting 12 days. The fermentation temperature for Sangiovese did not exceed 30 °C, thus promoting favorable extraction of color and tannins. After malolactic fermentation during October and November, the wine was aged in barrels made of French, American, and Hungarian oak for 14 months. Then the wine was aged in bottles for another 6 months before being released for sale.
About the Manufacturer
Antinori is the oldest winery in Tuscany, producing wine for over 600 years! Many Antinori wines, thanks to an innovative approach and virtuoso blends, have literally revolutionized the wine market. Most Antinori wines rival the best Bordeaux in their properties, while being favorably distinguished from the latter by their cost. World-renowned wine expert Robert Parker said: "Antinori is undoubtedly the greatest name in Italian winemaking. During the tasting of Antinori wines, the main thing happens — an understanding of the quality of wines is instilled."
