Lucente

In 1995, two winemaking families — the renowned Frescobaldi from Tuscany and Mondavi from America — decided to join forces and create the joint venture Luce della Vite in the Montalcino area. The innovative approach and modern technologies of one of the leaders in the California wine market — the Mondavi family — merged with the centuries-old winemaking experience and traditional vision of the Frescobaldi family. Both families aimed to create one of the greatest wines of Italy. It all began with blending the wines from the Frescobaldi estate from 1993 and 1994. According to the traditions of the Brunello di Montalcino region, wines were to be made from 100% Sangiovese, but the estate`s winemakers decided to combine the structure of Sangiovese with the roundness of Merlot, thus "Luce" was born — a super Tuscan wine that has entered the elite circle of world winemaking. In addition to this remarkable wine, the venture produces two other well-known wines: "Lucente", in which Sangiovese and Merlot are complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon, and "Luce Brunello", created in the best traditions of the region from a single variety of Sangiovese, as well as the "Danzate" wine line, representing four regions of Italy.
