Interesting facts
The wine Trus "Pico de Luyas" beautifully reflects the character of the best lands in Ribera del Duero: limestone soils, with the bedrock very close to the surface and slopes of limestone clay loams, where the vine grows in balance. The farm, located in the municipality of La Horra, is at an altitude of 900 meters above sea level and faces south. All these characteristics give a red wine filled with a river, mineral, intense, sweet, and voluminous character that should be enjoyed slowly.
About the Manufacturer
Palacios Vinos de Finca embodies two of the most significant and renowned terroirs in Spain. It unites three unique wineries: Nivarius and Proelio in Rioja DOC, located at an altitude of about 750 meters, and Trus in DO Ribera del Duero, where fresh interpretations of classic wines from the region are created. Small plots of land, tested by time and overcoming natural challenges, form the basis of the Proelio winery. Here, old vines of Garnacha Tinta, Tempranillo, Graciano, and Maturana grow, producing lively, expressive, and long-lived wines. At Palacios Vinos de Finca, traditional wines are crafted. A unique approach to processing each plot allows for the preservation of the individuality of the terroir. High-altitude vineyards, located in a cool climate, are treated with special care to produce wines that convey the character of Rioja.
