Interesting facts
"Vina Arana" Gran Reserva, 2014 is a very attractive, fresh, and refined wine with excellent aging potential. The blend includes Tempranillo grapes from the municipality of Rodezno and Graciano grapes from the municipality of Fuenmayor. The grapes are transported to the winery chilled, in small boxes, to preserve the integrity of the fruit. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks lasted for 19 days. In April 2015, after malolactic fermentation, the best wines were selected and aged for 3 years in four-year-old American oak barrels produced in-house.
About the Manufacturer
On July 10, 1890, five Basque families united to create the "Society of High Rioja Wines," which later became known as La Rioja Alta. The Rioja region in Spain produces some of the best and most long-lived wines in the world. La Rioja Alta owns 360 hectares of vineyards, mainly in Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa. The company does not produce wines of all designations every year, preferring only those that have fully developed and exhibited the best characteristics. Aging and maturation of the wines occur in French oak barrels, which add subtle spice notes to La Rioja Alta wines. In March 2002, "Decanter" magazine named La Rioja Alta the top wine house of Rioja in the 20th century.
