Sette Ponti Orma Toscana IGT 2018
The wine has an intriguing purplish-red color with violet highlights.
In the glass, the aroma of the wine reveals deep, rich shades of red and black currants, blackberry confit, candied cherries, and wild plums, harmoniously intertwined with notes of sage, rosemary, eucalyptus, dark spices, and light hints of tobacco.
The wine captivates with a rich, well-structured, enveloping, complex yet soft, fresh, rounded taste with expressive tones of sweet ripe fruits, notes of cherry, black currant, spices, and spicy oak nuances, dense, well-integrated tannins, velvety texture, and a long, persistent finish.
The producer recommends serving the wine with meat dishes, including game and braised red meat.

Interesting facts
"Orma" is a multifaceted, complex, and harmonious red wine that interprets the historical Bordeaux blend with elegance and character. The owner of the Sette Ponti winery, Antonio Moretti Cuseri, a great wine lover and beauty enthusiast, was impressed by the unique terroir of Bolgheri and decided to leave his mark by creating a wine that perfectly reflects the excellence of this outstanding wine region. That is why he named his wine "Orma", which symbolically means "Footprint" in Italian. The debut vintage of 2005 immediately gained recognition among consumers and critics alike. Today, "Orma", produced at the estate of the same name acquired by Antonio Moretti in 2004, stands alongside the best wines of Bolgheri. "Orma" is the perfect blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc, which fully reveal their potential in the local Mediterranean climate. The vines, with an average age of 20 years, are grown on vineyards with eastern and western exposures at an altitude of 10 meters above sea level. The stony and clayey soils of the vineyards, possessing good drainage and moisture-retaining properties, endow the future wine with a complex character and mineral nuances in taste. The grapes are harvested by hand when each variety reaches optimal ripeness. The winemaking process involves separate vinification for different varieties. Fermentation and maceration on the skins occur for 18 days with regular remontage. The wine is aged for 18 months in 225-liter French oak barrels, and after bottling, it is aged for another 12 months.
About the Manufacturer
The Sette Ponti winery is located in the very heart of Chianti. The name translates to "seven bridges". It refers to the seven bridges over the Reno River, near one of which the winery is located. The history of Sette Ponti began in 1957 when architect Alberto Moretti acquired a 50-hectare estate from Princess Maria Cristina and Margarita of Savoy. Today, the estate is owned by his son, Antonio Moretti. Renowned Italian enologist Carlo Ferrini and his assistant Gioia Cresti were invited as consultants to the winery. Also involved were Gilbert Bouvet, one of the most experienced grape growers in France, and agronomist Benedetto d'Anna. Thanks to the work of these renowned specialists, Moretti has managed to present the world with elegant wines that not only reflect local traditions and the characteristics of their terroir but also rank highly in Italian and international wine ratings. In 2000, Antonio Moretti, along with his daughter, acquired vineyards near Noto in Sicily and founded a new winery, Feudo Maccari, which produces two remarkable wines, Saia and Maharis.
