Grattamacco Bolgheri Superiore 2017

Grattamacco is a wonderful wine from Italy, referred to by winemakers as "super Tuscan", justly considered one of the best in the Tuscany region. "Super Tuscan wines" are currently at the peak of popularity, attracting the attention of experts and industry professionals, lovers of Italian wines, and Mediterranean cuisine. Essentially, these are just table wines (VdT)! The secret of their popularity lies in the use of multiple grape varieties, as well as in revolutionary technology. For example, wines are aged not in standard barrels but in small casks, and the grapes are allowed to fully ripen before processing. The result is top ratings, awards, and medals, with fans worldwide. Grattamacco wines are organic in every sense of the word. The harvest of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sangiovese for the magnificent Grattamacco, Bolgheri Rosso Superiore is grown in soils rich in sandstone, marl, limestone, and clay. The vineyard is located at an altitude of 100 meters above sea level and yields 7 tons per hectare. The average age of the vines is 20 years, and the grapes are cultivated according to organic farming methods. The vinification process involves fermentation in truncated conical oak vats. Malolactic fermentation occurs in barrels, with aging lasting at least 18 months, utilizing both new and reused barrels. After bottling, the wine is aged in bottles for another 12 months.
