Interesting facts
Lamorèmio - Brut Rosato from the renowned Benanti winery on Etna is an elegant rosé sparkling wine made from Nerello Mascalese grapes from vines aged up to 20 years, growing on the volcanic soil of the volcano`s slopes. The grapes are hand-picked and gently pressed without destemming. Fermentation occurs in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16-18°C. The wine is aged on the lees until late spring, after which it is bottled with selected yeasts for secondary fermentation. Disgorgement and dosage are performed after 24 months. The wine is then aged for at least three months.
About the Manufacturer
The history of the Benanti winemaking dynasty began in the late 19th century when Giuseppe Benanti — the great-grandfather of the current owner (also Giuseppe) — planted his vineyards near the village of Viagrande, located on the slopes of Mount Etna. The family has been producing wine for many years, but the company achieved its greatest successes since it came under the ownership of Dr. Giuseppe Benanti in 1988, who began his work with a thorough study of the soil composition and the characteristics of indigenous grape varieties. The estate began to apply the latest methods of vinification of traditional grape varieties, resulting in several wine brands with their own style and individuality, reflecting the unique characteristics of the terroir. This product was immediately appreciated by connoisseurs and gained recognition in Italy. The company adheres to the principles of organic viticulture and focuses primarily on the quality of work in the vineyards. Today, Benanti wines can be considered a benchmark for winemakers in the region, and the "Gambero Rosso" magazine recognized the winery as the best in Italy. The estate`s wonderful wines, possessing a special refinement and elegance, regularly receive high ratings from domestic and international critics, and wines such as the white "Pietramarina" and the red "Serra della Contessa" and "Rovittello" have repeatedly been classified among the best wines in Italy.
