Clos Manou is the estate's flagship wine. This is a dense, deep, complex and rich fruity wine from the Médoc with a hedonistic touch, meaning you can enjoy this wine even when relatively young. However, its youthful charm should not overshadow the fact that it also has excellent aging potential. The 2018 vintage stands out for its concentration and balance thanks to favorable weather after a tricky start to the season. The Clos Manou terroir is located on gravelly-sandy soils, which give the wine a beautiful structure and exceptional finesse. The winemaking process is meticulous, with a long maceration and aging in barrels, including a significant proportion of new oak, which gives this cuvée depth and elegant tannins.
About the Manufacturer
Clos Manou is the quintessence of Médoc winemaking, managed with enthusiasm and dedication. Here, in Saint-Christoly, in the far north of the Médoc, Françoise and Stéphane Dief bring their dream of producing their own wine to life, a wine that strives for transparency and precision, taking its cue from the great wines of the region. It all began in 1998 in a garage; the vineyard, which now covers about 18 hectares, was initially only one-eighth of a hectare. With a planting density of 10,000 vines per hectare, they took the first step towards reducing yields, and now only about a third of the harvest goes into their flagship wine.
