About the Manufacturer
The origin of Chateau Prieure-Lichine dates back to the 16th century, when monks from the Benedictine abbey of Vertheuil created the Prieure vineyard. Initially, the main focus was on cultivating varieties, not on wine production. In 1951, these lands were acquired by Alexis Lichine, the author of the famous "World Encyclopedia of Wine". Until 1999, the Château belonged to his son. The next owners were the Ballande family, who invited the world-famous winemaker Michel Rolland to work. Château Prieuré-Lichine also produces a second wine, "Cloitre de Prieure-Lichine", and a dry white wine, "Blanc de Prieure-Lichine". All wines of the estate have an exceptional taste.
