Interesting facts
Louis Latour, Bourgogne AOC, Chardonnay is made from Chardonnay grapes native to Burgundy. The region's suitable limestone soils, ideal vineyard exposure, and moderate climate allow for grapes with a high sugar level while maintaining a balance of fruitiness and acidity. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation of the grapes take place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine is aged in the same tanks for 8 to 10 months. The aging potential of Louis Latour, Chardonnay Bourgogne is 2-5 years.
About the Manufacturer
Domaine Louis Latour is one of the most respected producers in Burgundy, whose wines are very popular worldwide. The Domaine traces its history back to the 17th century when the castle was built by the Count of Grency in 1749, and vineyards were planted on 17 hectares of land around it. Currently, the estate is managed by the 10th generation of the family, and the vineyard area is 50 hectares, stretching from Chambertin in the north to Chevalier-Montrachet in the south, planted mostly with the classic Burgundy grape varieties: Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The entire harvest from the vineyards is transported to the winery in Aloxe-Corton, which is one of the oldest in France and is considered the cradle of French winemaking. Today, the winery is equipped with the most modern equipment, and a unique system of elevators and rails allows the entire winemaking process to be carried out by gravity, which eliminates the risk of oxidation and has an extremely beneficial effect on the quality of the wine. In 1997, as part of the celebration of its bicentenary, Domaine Louis Latour was accepted into the closed Henokiens club. This club unites leading companies in their fields that continue to be family-owned and continue to bear the name of their founder for over 200 years.
