Interesting facts
Chateau Nenin is rightly considered one of the best red dry wines of the Pomerol region. The wine is made from Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes. The wine is aged in oak barrels, 30% of which are new. Its distinctive features are richness, good structure, softness, strength, aromaticity, and a refined and pronounced taste. However, one should wait for all these qualities to fully manifest, setting aside a bottle of "Chateau Nenin" for 10-12 years.
About the Manufacturer
On the eve of the 1997 harvest, Chateau Nenin was acquired by Jean-Hubert Delon, a close relative of the previous owners, who had owned the Chateau since 1847. The estate currently covers 32 hectares, with an average vine age of 25 years. The estate is renowned for its beauty and uniqueness — at its center stands a beautiful house built in the 19th century, surrounded by a lovely well-maintained park, which is a rarity for Pomerol, as every piece of land is usually used for agriculture. The vineyard (varieties: Merlot — 70%, Cabernet Franc — 20%, Cabernet Sauvignon — 10%) is planted on clay and gravel soils on the southern slope of the Pomerol hill, providing optimal conditions for sunlight and, consequently, for the most complete ripening of the grapes.
