Interesting facts
Chateau Beauregard is the flagship wine of the estate of the same name. According to the winemakers of the Chateau, the success of great wine begins with selected grapes grown in an exceptional terroir. This philosophy fully reflects the rigor of work in the vineyards, which are key components of the success of Chateau Beauregard wines. The average age of the vines reaches 35 years. All work, including harvesting, is done manually. The grapes undergo strict sorting twice to preserve maximum purity and destemming. Fermentation takes place in conical-shaped concrete tanks at a temperature of 26-30 °C for 3-5 weeks. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged for 18-24 months. For maturation, 60% of the wine on fine lees uses the best new barrels from 7 different coopers. The 2018 vintage will fully reveal its potential between 2020 and 2042.
About the Manufacturer
The history of Chateau Beauregard began in the 11th century when it belonged to the Order of the Knights of Malta. The magnificent building of the Chateau, preserved to this day, was built in 1795 by a student of Victor Louis — the famous architect who designed the Grand Theatre in Bordeaux. The Chateau is known not only for its architecture but also for its landscape, with terraces and gardens that give this place a poetic and magical character. The revival of Chateau Beauregard began in 1991 after its acquisition by Crédit Foncier. The ambitious winemaker Vincent Priou became the manager of the Chateau. The investor implemented an extensive program for restoring the vineyards and draining the soil, as well as renovating and upgrading the winery and cellars for aging wines. All of this contributed to the revival of the glory of Chateau Beauregard wines.
