About the Manufacturer
The Robert Mondavi Winery was established in 1966. Robert Mondavi dreamed of creating wines in Napa Valley that would stand alongside the best wines in the world. And his dream came true. For over 40 years, the Mondavi name has become synonymous with winemaking in Napa Valley and California as a whole. Robert`s vineyards are located in different regions of California and are intended for growing various grape varieties. Thanks to the diversity of soils and climatic conditions, Robert Mondavi has achieved true diversity in the wines produced. Robert Mondavi is often referred to as the "Father of California Winemaking." He studied the properties of French oak carefully, determining how to age California wines. He was the first in California to produce Sauvignon Blanc aged in oak barrels, the first to achieve excellent quality wine from Pinot Noir grapes, and managed to reproduce Bordeaux-style Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa Valley. In 1988, Decanter magazine named him "Man of the Year." Harvard Business School awarded him the title of "Business Leader of the Year." Robert Mondavi has also received titles such as "Entrepreneur of the Year," "Winemaker of the Decade," "Patron of the Arts," and the Vinitaly Prize. Wine Spectator declared him the person who did the most to improve the image of wine in 1997. The "Woodbridge" winery owned by Mondavi was named "the most significant in the United States."
