Chateauneuf-du-Pape "Vieilles Vignes" from Domaine Chante Cigale is a rich, harmonious, beautifully balanced red wine, the blend of which consists of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre grapes. The age of the vines is impressive — from 80 to 100 years. The harvest is collected exclusively by hand. After fermentation and three weeks of maceration, the wine is aged for 12 months in barrels of various sizes, clarified from sediment and matured for six months in oak foudres and cement tanks. The wine's aging potential is 15-20 years. In 1874, the winemaker Hippolyte Jourdan named his estate with 28 hectares of vineyards Clos Chante Cigale ("Vineyard of the Singing Cicadas"). In 1936, after the introduction of the AOC system, Paul Jourdan — the great-grandfather of the current owner, renamed the estate Domaine Chante Cigale. Owning 102 acres of land in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the domaine produces classic wines of this appellation. Not so long ago, the owner handed over management to his son Alexandre. He very quickly earned positive reviews from well-known journalists Jancis Robinson from the UK and Steve Danzer from the USA.

Domaine Chante Cigale is located in the rocky part of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The age of the vines is more than 65 years. The oldest vines grow on the Carbier plateau, near Chateau Montredon. All 13 grape varieties permitted in Châteauneuf-du-Pape are cultivated in the vineyards, but Grenache Noir is the dominant variety. The harvest is carried out only by hand for at least six weeks when the grapes reach optimal ripeness. During harvesting, the phases of the lunar calendar and other biodynamic nuances are taken into account. Today, Domaine Chante Cigale exports its products to more than 20 countries around the world, worthily representing the unforgettable style of the world-famous appellation.
